Neal E. Boyd returns to MU, November 7, 2010
The School of Music is collaborating with the University Concert Series in the return of Neal E. Boyd, the 2001 alumnus who went on to win America’s Got Talent in 2008. Boyd now records and concertizes full-time, and the details of his activities can be found on his website.
The November 7 concert, to be held in Jesse Auditorium, will open with performances by Show-Me Opera, the School of Music’s opera troupe (which Neal participated in during his student days at MU), and Molly Clodius, a 2010 master’s graduate from the School of Music, who won the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition in March. Neal won this same competition in 2000, and the School of Music has since gone on to produce three more winners of this annual national competition, including Molly. Neal will then perform from his wide-ranging repertoire and will be accompanied by members of the University Philharmonic.
For tickets and more information about the November 7 concert, see the University Concert Series website.
