Mizzou Band and Choir and Piano Camp Band and Choir Camp June 3-8, 2012 The Mizzou Band and Choir Camp provides an enriching curriculum of full ensemble rehearsals, private instruction, sectionals, and electives taught by qualified music educators from throughout the state, including members of the MU School of Music faculty. Eligibility: Open to band and choir students entering 6th through 8th grades in Fall 2012. Click here to download Junior High camp application form [pdf] In addition to the application form, please also submit the corresponding supplemental form: Senior High For the first time, Mizzou is combining our Senior High School Band and Choir Camp with Piano. This will be a weeklong camp devoted to making music, learning with your peers, and having fun at Mizzou! For band and choir students, the camp provides an enriching curriculum of full ensemble rehearsals, private instruction, sectionals, and electives taught by qualified music educators from throughout the state, including members of the MU School of Music faculty. Piano students can enjoy a highly focused curriculum including daily piano lessons with MU School of Music faculty, practice time, technique classes, musicianship classes, special evening activities, and performances. The camp will end with recitals for family and friends on Friday afternoon. Eligibility: Open to band, choir, and piano students entering 9th through 12th grades, as well as college freshman as of Fall 2012. Piano students should have studied at least three years, and will be asked for a short video recording of their playing and a recommendation from their current piano teacher. Missouri Summer Composition Institute (C.O.M.P. Camp) June 17-23, 2012 The Missouri Summer Composition Institute (or "C.O.M.P. Camp") is an exciting opportunity for some of Missouri's young composers to will receive composition lessons from MU faculty and compose a piece to be premiered at the end of the week by a resident ensemble. Esterhazy String Quartet Seminar June 17-24, 2012 This inspiring and challenging chamber music experience for advanced high school string students is one of the oldest summer chamber music seminars in the country. Sixteen gifted high school students, under the guidance of the Esterhazy Quartet, immerse themselves in great chamber music from the classical to the modern. Eligibility: Participants ages 15-18 are selected through a highly-competitive live or recorded audition process.
