Home | Community Programs | Experiencing Piano Group Classes Experiencing Piano Group ClassesExperiencing Piano Group Classes will not be offered in the Fall 2009, but we hope to reinstate the program in Spring 2010. Experiencing Piano Group Classes are weekly classes open to beginning piano students ages 6-9. These group classes introduce young beginners to playing the piano. All students in the group classes are also taught weekly individual lessons. In these classes, students perform weekly and make friends with other children who play the piano. Students also study music theory, music history, ear training, improvisation, ensemble playing, and rhythm. These subjects are taught through fun games, music activities, and written workbooks. Students will experience music and piano playing and they will learn to play music with others, a skill that will promote a life-long interest in music making. Students are grouped in classes by age/grade level. Tuition for the class is $65 per semester per child. Prof. Ernst would like to meet with you and your child to determine if this program is a good fit for you and your child.
