  Marching Mizzou

The University of Missouri Bands offers many conducting and teaching opportunities to students enrolled in the MM in Wind Conducting program.  These include conducting our three concert ensembles, assisting with courses in basic conducting, score reading, and rehearsal techniques, and working and traveling with athletic bands, including Marching Mizzou. Students will enhance their musical leadership skills through private conducting lessons with band faculty members, and courses in score study, aural skills development, and music theory. Students are expected to have a minimum of two years previous teaching experience. Many of our graduates eventually pursue DMA degrees in conducting or return to public school teaching.
