Today Marching Mizzou went to Blarney Castle. The park featuring the castle has the famous Blarney Stone that is said to bring eloquence when one kisses the stone. The climb up to the stone is 100 steps up the castle!

The park featured beautiful gardens including the "Poison Garden." This garden has poisonous plants some of which are included in Harry Potter novels such as Wolfsbane and Mandrake.

The park also featured the Rock Close, a mystical place said to be the site of an ancient druidic settlement, according to the map. The Rock Close featured "The Witch Stone," "Wishing Steps" and "The Seven Sisters"

Following the park many students got lunch and shopped in the Blarney Woolen Mills, which includes the largest Irish shop in the world. Many students were able to finish up their shopping before the bus ride home.

We ended our evening at the hotel ballroom for dinner and live music. The live music group performed Irish folk music as well as popular favorites. It was a lot of fun!

Tomorrow morning we leave for the Dublin airport at 6 a.m. before our flight leaves for Chicago around 11 a.m. Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up with any updates of our travel experience! We will be able to update more when we get back into the United States!
