PAYMENT 

After submitting your application for any of the below summer programs, you will receive an invoice with instructions on how to pay. You may pay your deposit, application fee, or tuition balance one of the following ways:

  • By phone (credit card): 573-882-2606
  • In person (cash or check), 202 Sinquefield Music Center, Columbia, MO 65211
    • Checks payable to: MU School of Music (include CAMP NAME + student name in memo)
  • By mail (check only; do not mail cash) to Community Music Program, 202 Sinquefield Music Center, Columbia, MO 65211

Just for Kids - Experiencing Piano Animal Adventures Camp, Level 1

  • A week of musical games, crafts, improvisation, composition, and piano playing!
  • Open to all students, ages 5-7 (including new beginners, those with previous Experiencing Piano Class experience, or less than 1 year of private lessons. For determining specific camp level placement, students may be asked to meet with the instructor).
  • Dates: Monday-Friday, June 15 - June 19, 2020
  • 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the Piano Lab, Sinquefield Music Center Rm. 380
  • Tuition: $160; must register by May 29

Just for Kids - Experiencing Piano Camp, Level 2

  • A week of duet and ensemble playing, music history and theory, improvisation and composition, and musical games and activities!
  • Open to all students, ages 7 and up (with at least 1 year of piano class or private lessons)
  • Dates: Monday-Friday, July 13 - July 17, 2020
  • 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the Piano Lab, Sinquefield Music Center Rm. 380
  • Tuition: $160; must register by June 26

Just for Adults - Experiencing Piano Eight-Week Summer Class

  • Have you always wanted to learn to read music and to play the piano? This class is the perfect opportunity to experience both in a short course.
  • Open to all adults of all ages, especially beginners or those who need a refresher course on beginning concepts and skills.
  • Dates: Tuesdays, June 9 - July 28
  • 5:30pm - 6:30 PM in the Piano Lab, Sinquefield Music Center Rm. 380
  • Tuition: $200 (includes textbook); must register by May 22

MU Women's Community Jazz Ensemble

  • Open to 8th-12th grade female students (6th and 7th grade students will be considered - if interested, email Joanna Griffith)
  • 2020 Meeting Dates: Tuesdays - 6/2, 6/9, 6/16, 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21 (8 sessions)
  • Time: 6:15pm-7:30pm
  • Location: Sinquefied Music Center
  • Final Performance on 7/27 - Location/Time TBD
  • No prior jazz experience necessary
  • Tuition: $100

Esterhazy String Quartet Seminar

  • Dates: Sunday, June 14 through Sunday, June 21, 2020
  • Tuition: $0 
    • Room/Board Fees: $560
    • All successful applicants receive full tuition scholarship to the Esterhazy String Quartet Seminar, but pay Room / Board fees 
  • Payment: $50 non-refundable application fee (due at time of application), $255 due May 8th, $255 remaining balance due upon check-in June 14th
  • Application Deadline: materials must be postmarked by April 13, 2020

Participants are selected through a highly-competitive live or recorded audition process. During the week-long session, participants will receive daily chamber music coachings, private lessons with Esterhazy Quartet members, and the opportunity to perform in solo masterclasses. Each chamber ensemble will perform at least twice during the session. The combination of a low student-faculty ratio, stimulating and talented peers, and the challenge of some of the world’s greatest music will inspire students to achieve tremendous musical and personal growth.

Missouri Summer Composition Institute (Summer COMP)

  • 2020 Dates: June 21-27, 2020

    Tuition: $100, due on or before the first day of camp

    All current and former COMP Festival winners will receive a full scholarship to the Missouri Summer Composition Institute.
