Community Steel Pan Ensemble
The Community Steel Pan Ensemble welcomes anyone interested in learning how to play the steel pan, the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago, in a comfortable group setting. Throughout the session, the group will be playing traditional calypsos and other musical styles while learning the history of the pan and Trinidadian culture. The only requirement to become a member is that you must be able to read music. No prior experience with steel pans or even percussion is necessary. The session will end with an informal performance held in Loeb Hall 201. A minimum of 6 people will need to enroll in this ensemble.
