MNMI Graduate Assistantships

       
Creating Original Music Project Assistant (0.25 FTE) Administrative support to the Managing Director of the Mizzou New Music Initiative (MNMI) in the administration of the Creating Original Music Project (COMP), an outreach program directed at composers in grades K-12. Tasks include promoting the Call for Scores, logistics and coordination of the festival itself, securing players, processing applications, and communicating with students, teachers, and parents. MNMI Distance Learning/Music Technology Assistantship (0.25 FTE)

In the first year: supervising the use of the music technology studio, maintenance/troubleshooting, equipment checkout, and assisting with technology-related concert preparation for the composition area.

In the second year: teaching one class per semester (Intro to Electronic Music, Music Fundamentals), and acting as liasion for the Composer Connection distance learning initiative.

Mizzou New Music Ensemble (0.33 FTE)

Being a member of the Mizzou New Music Ensemble includes 6 hours/week rehearsal, performances on and off campus throughout each semester, expected performance at the Mizzou International Composers Festival, held in July each year (an additional $500 is added for the summer).

Full Instrumentation:  flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, percussion, at-large position
