Update has a history of excellence in the music education research field. Interestingly, my very first research article was published in this journal. I look forward to serving the music education community in my role as Associate Editor/Editor-Elect, and will strive to continue the excellent work of my predecessors.”  Congratulations to Dr. Silvey for the prestigious appointment!
