April 25-27, 2019 – MU Campus
For the 67th time, MU will be the host institution for the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Music Festival which brings over 10,000 high school musicians to campus to be adjudicated for a gold, silver, or bronze medal.
Participant information - including campus maps, parking details, and equipment information - can be found on the MSHSAA Music Activities webpage. Scroll down to the green bar to see 2019 State Festival Information. If you have questions about the MU campus or facilities during the festival, please call the MU School of Music at 573-882-2604. Inquiries regarding performances or scheduling should be directed to the MSHSAA staff.
A Note to the MU Community: While festival activities are centralized in buildings near Lowry Mall (Memorial Union, Fine Arts Building, Stewart Hall, and Tate Hal), please anticipate an increase in traffic throughout campus and the downtown area during this time.
Volunteers are needed to fill over 125 building, hall, and room monitor positions each day to help this event run smoothly. There are morning and afternoon shifts available, and each one begins with check-in and a training meeting in Whitmore Recital Hall - Fine Arts Building.
- Morning Shifts: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Afternoon Shifts: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Two-hour volunteer shifts are also available upon special request.
If you can represent the MU community at this event (and would like to hear amazing musical performances throughout the day!), please volunteer by contacting Brooke Danielsen in the MU School of Music at 573-882-3439 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
