Performing opportunities for MU percussion students are abundant. Large ensemble opportunities include the Marching Mizzou Drumline, University Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, University Philharmonic, Concert Jazz Band, Studio Jazz Band and several different types of percussion ensembles – University Percussion Ensemble, World Percussion Ensemble, MU Steel – a full, traditional steel pan ensemble, and the MU Percussion Quartet comprised of the top four percussionists in the studio.  The University Percussion Ensemble meets each semester and performs chamber music and percussion orchestra repertoire. The World Percussion ensemble meets during the spring semester and includes instruction on steel pans as well as instruments from West Africa, Brazil, Latin America, Zimbabwe, and the Middle East. The third ensemble is the Graduate Percussion Ensemble and this group is a coached quartet or trio depending on the current number of Master's students.
