As a voice major at Mizzou, you'll have many opportunities to perform, both as a soloist and as a member of an ensemble. Everyone has an hour-long private lesson each week, in addition to a weekly studio class. There are a variety of choral ensembles, which, along with a thriving opera workshop, rehearse several times each week. Students also have the opportunity to work with instrumentalists in the rehearsal and performance of chamber works.

The Opera Workshop presents scenes every fall semester and a fully staged production each spring semester. In Spring 2015, the Show-Me Opera is presented a production of Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi. Other recent opera productions include Robert Ward's The Crucible, Mozart's Così fan tutte and The Magic Flute, Rossini's La Cenerentola, Lehar's The Merry Widow, and Puccini's Gianni Schicchi paired with Act II of La bohème.
