International Student Information

If you are an international student or a resident who has extenuating circumstances and cannot audition and interview in person, the recording/materials submitted via the online application to the School of Music will be evaluated in place of the in-person audition. Such applicants may be required to participate in a video conference interview (Skype, FaceTime, etc.) or to audition on campus at a later time.

Graduate

Strong English reading, writing, and speaking abilities are necessary for success in the graduate programs in the School of Music. You can read about the language proficiency requirements on the Graduate School web page.

If your language proficiency scores do not meet these requirements, you may apply to the intensive English program at the MU Center for English Language Learning (CELL). This does not guarantee acceptance to the School of Music, but you may re-apply to the SOM if you achieve sufficient scores through the CELL program.
