Last week, Prof. Otto Sauter held a mini residency at MU as part of the ongoing collaboration between the World Brass Association (WBA) and MU School of Music. He presented two large group clinics and worked with the trumpet students individually. On Saturday, together with the St. Louis Civic Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Barry Ford, Sauter gave the USA Premiere of Rhapsody for Trumpet and Orchestra by Mikis Theodorakis (1925-2021). The Greek Ministry of Culture has designated 2025 as the "Year of Mikis Theodorakis" to mark the centenary of his birth. The concert was held at the Lee Theater at Touhill Performing Arts Center (UMSL).

Barry Ford is MU alum (MM in Conducting and Composition) and former Director of Orchestral Studies. Concertmaster Graham Woodland is also an alum (BM), student of Prof. Szekely.
