Mizzou is proud to host the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Music (MSHSAA) Festival which brings thousands of talented high school students to our campus for adjudication on their musical performances. Volunteers are needed to fill more than 125 monitor positions each day to help this event run smoothly.

2026 State Music Festival Volunteer Schedule
Volunteers should check in at Whitmore Recital Hall located in the Fine Arts Building - Music at the beginning of their shift (7:30 AM or 12:30 PM). You will receive a brief training before you are dismissed to your assigned location. Please dress in business casual attire or a Mizzou shirt with black/khaki pants.

Morning shifts are 7:30 a.m.-noon
Afternoon shifts are 12:30-5 p.m.

How do I sign up for MU Alert?
Visitors to the MU campus are encouraged to sign up for MU Alert while on campus. The sign-up process is quick and you can opt out at any time. MU Alert is only used only for emergencies that may affect your health and safety.
Where do I park on the MU campus?
There are many parking options on campus and throughout the downtown area. Details for all visitor parking options are outlined on the 2026 State Music Festival Visitor Parking document, including directions to reserve a complimentary MSHSAA 2026 Parking Permit for access to Hitt Street Parking Structure for Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1.
Parking is free in university parking structures on Saturdays, including May 2, with the exception of reserved and restricted spaces which are enforced 24/7.
Where do the events take place?
State Music Festival performances are scheduled in Memorial Union, Tate Hall, Fine Arts Building, Ellis Auditorium, Stewart Hall, and Sinquefield Music Center - all centrally located around Lowry Mall.

If you are unsure where and when a performance is to occur, a MSHSAA representative will be located in the main lobby of Memorial Union North with the complete schedule of events.
When does my student perform?
MSHSAA schedules student performances and distributes that information to high school directors. Please check with your student about their performance time as this information is not publicly available until 7 AM each morning of the festival. The festival schedule and ratings can be found here each day of the festival, as well as via QR codes located in performance venues.
Where is Lost & Found?
Non-music lost & found items (e.g., water bottles, clothing items) will be taken to the Memorial Union North help desk (573-884-8793). Sheet music or instruments will be taken to the MSHSAA headquarters located in Stotler Lounge in Memorial Union North (573-875-4880).
Where can I eat?
There are many eateries on campus and throughout the downtown area. MU School of Music organizations also sell food on Lowry Mall. Please note that all MU Campus Dining locations are cashless and only accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit cards, and debit cards.
Can I listen to MU School of Music performances while I am on campus?
Yes! Several ensembles will perform during the lunch break (12:00-1:00 PM) each day on Lowry Mall. Additionally, Marching Mizzou will be rehearsing at the Marching Mizzou Practice Facilities (1540 Providence Point Drive) on Thursday, April 30, 4:15-6:00 PM as they prepare for London Band Week. Feel free to stop by rehearsal for this unique opportunity to see Marching Mizzou in action while on campus!
