Mizzou Trombone Boot Camp
Instructors: Dr. Timothy Howe & Dr. Sam Griffith

  • June 4-7, 2025 
  • Eligibility: High school students entering grades 9-12, camp is limited to 16 students
  • Cost: All campers are required to pay the $216 camp fee. You can select if you need housing/meals in the application. 
    • Double room w/linens: $81
    • Dining: $83
    • Camp fee: $216
    • Total: $380
  • There will be a male and female chaperone whose primary responsibilities will be escorting students to meals and to their dorms. Chaperones will stay on the same floor as students. There is not a lot of free time throughout the day, but chaperones will be with the campers in the evenings when most of the free time occurs.
     

Esterhazy String Quartet Seminar

  • Dates: June June 22-29, 2025
  • Eligibility: High School string students (violin, viola, cello only) 
  • Room and board: $750 (includes non-refundable $50 application fee)
  • Payment schedule: $50 application fee is due along with the application then $350 is due by May 12 & the remaining balance is due on June 18 
  • Application deadline: April 14, 2025
  • Financial aid: limited

During this week-long session, participants will receive daily chamber music coachings, private lessons with Esterhazy Quartet members, and the opportunity to perform in solo masterclasses. Each chamber ensemble will perform at least twice during the session. Limited to 16 students!

A $50 deposit must accompany all applications. Selected participants will be notified of their acceptance into the program by early May, and then $350 of the room/board fees is due by May 12, 2025. The remaining balance of $350 is due on June 18, 2025.

Missouri Summer Composition Institute (COMP)

Mizzou Piano Camp
During this week-long camp, participants will enjoy daily technique/sight-reading classes, piano ensemble coachings, workshop sessions on a variety of topics, supervised practicing, and performance opportunities.  Two piano lessons are included; additional lessons may be arranged at $60 per hour.

  • Dates: June 29-July 5, 2025
  • Eligibility: 12-18-year-old (boarding strongly recommended for the full experience).  Students will stay in MU dormitories and dine in MU dining halls.
  • Outstanding younger students may be considered as day-students.
  • Tuition:
    • Full-student Fees (Tuition, Room and Meals) - $750 
    • Day-student Fees (Tuition and Meals without Room) - $500
  • Application Deadline (including non-refundable $50 application fee that will be applied towards your tuition) - April 21, 2025

Experiencing Piano for Kids 

Mizzou Summer Percussion Camp 2024
Contact: Professor Dr. Megan Arns
Travel the world through percussion! This 5-day percussion camp will take you to Ghana, Zimbabwe, Trinidad & Tobago, Brazil, and the Middle East through hands-on exploration of percussion ensembles around the world. Taught by faculty and graduate students in the School of Music at the University of Missouri, students will experience 2-hours of high-quality group instruction per day. This camp is open to middle and high school students. At least 1 year of percussion experience in band is recommended, but not required. Registration is free and limited to 30 participants.

 

Online Music Theory Camp
Instructor: Dr. Erica Manzo
During this four-week asynchronous online course you will be guided through the fundamentals of music theory. This camp is intended for undergraduate students entering the School of Music that would like extra review to establish a strong foundation for future academic work.
